Cars.com 2025 Best Value New Cars: Nissan Sentra, Frontier, and Versa

Nissan is on a roll with some of the best vehicles on the market. Cars.com has named the Nissan Sentra, Frontier, and Versa as three of its Best Value New Cars for 2025. Making this Cars.com list helps buyers find the best, most affordable vehicles that meet their specific needs without having to do all the research by themselves.  

2025 Nissan Sentra S 

In the compact cars category, the 2025 Sentra S came out on top, beating out the Kia Soul and Volkswagen Jetta. The Sentra is powered by a 2.0-liter inline-four engine that puts out 149 horsepower and 146 lb-ft of torque and sends power to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). As the base model, the S starts from $22,730 and comes standard with a 4.2-inch multi-information instrument cluster display as well as a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth and audio streaming.  

2025 Nissan Frontier S  

The 2025 Frontier S 4×2 King Cab with a six-foot bed was named the best mid-size truck over the Toyota Tacoma and the Chevy Colorado. One reason why Cars.com found the Frontier to be the best value was the 3.8-liter V6 that produces 310 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque, attached to a nine-speed automatic transmission. The Frontier S has a base price of $33,560, which is a steal when you consider what trucks are priced from these days. Another reason everyone loves the Frontier is the ability to tow up to 7,150 pounds when properly equipped.  

2025 Nissan Versa S 

Last but certainly not least, the least expensive car available in America, the Nissan Versa, was named the best subcompact car. It is the only subcompact car offered to buyers. With a base MSRP of only $18,330, the Versa S is the only sub-$20,000 car sold today. Powered by a 1.6-liter four-cylinder that makes 122 horsepower and 114 lb-ft of torque mated to either a five-speed manual or Xtronic CVT, the subcompact Nissan comes standard with Bluetooth audio streaming right from your phone, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment display, LED headlights, and daytime running lights. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both optional as well. According to the EPA, the Versa achieves 27 mpg (city) and 35 mpg (highway) when equipped with the five-speed manual gearbox, while the CVT will get 32 mpg (city) and 40 mpg (highway).
