Nissan Pathfinder Awarded 2025 TOP SAFETY PICK+ Rating from IIHS

The 2025 Nissan Pathfinder has scored a big win as one of the safest vehicles on the road, according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) with their coveted Top Safety Pick+ designation.  

How Vehicles Achieve a Top Safety Pick+ Rating 

In order for the Nissan SUV to be recognized as a Top Safety Pick+, the highest safety rating a new vehicle can receive, said vehicle had to go through rigorous crash testing and be given the top rating of “Good” in the small overlap front and side impact crash tests. It also has to have standard headlights that are labeled as “Acceptable” or “Good” (“Acceptable” is the second highest rating), and also be “Acceptable” or “Good” in the pedestrian front crash prevention test.

The 2025 Pathfinder shows its prowess in keeping occupants safe by having a standard Nissan Safety Shield 360 that features Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Automatic Braking, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Intelligent Driver Alertness, and Rear Door Alert. Available ProPILOT Assist and ProPILOT Assist with Navi-link work with Intelligent Cruise Control to provide steering assistance on highway cruises to help drivers relax a little on longer drives.  

Trim Levels, Power, and Towing Capacities 

The 2025 Pathfinder is available in five different trim levels, S, SV, SL, Rock Creek, and Platinum, which are all powered by a 3.5-liter V6 that produces 284 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque in all trims except for the Rock Creek, which makes an extra 11 horsepower and 11 lb-ft of torque. The S, SV, and SL trims can tow up to 3,500 lbs when properly equipped, while Rock Creek and Platinum models can comfortably tow 6,000 lbs. While front-wheel drive is standard, Nissan Intelligent 4WD is optional to help those who need a little extra peace of mind when traveling off the beaten trail.
