2026 Nissan Leaf – More Efficient, Better Performance, Extra Comfort

With the introduction of the latest, all-new 2026 Leaf EV, Nissan has gone above and beyond to give customers the best Leaf ever. Drivers will love that the third-generation electric car will provide new levels of efficiency, comfort, and performance with no compromises.
Trim Levels and Charging Speeds
The latest Nissan Leaf will be available in four different trim levels, including S, S+, SV+, and Platinum+. All models can charge from 10% to 80% in just 35 minutes, which is an improvement over the second-generation car, which charged to 80% in 40 or 60 minutes, depending on trim level.

More Power and Better Aerodynamics
Thanks to a new 3-in-1 electric powertrain that’s 10% smaller than the outgoing model’s, the new Leaf produces up to 214 horsepower and 261 lb-ft of torque. While this doesn’t mean that the updated EV will be winning any drag races, Nissan designers used the Z for inspiration to give the Leaf a more streamlined style with excellent aerodynamics, which includes a new hatch-mounted spoiler at a 45-degree angle.

Great Range
Range sees a healthy increase over the 149 and 212 miles of the last generation model’s S and SV Plus trims. Owners can expect 259 miles for the top-of-the-line Platinum+, 288 in the SV+, and 303 miles in the S+. This is the first time a Nissan Leaf will have 300 or more miles of electric range.

New Suspension and Wheels for Better Handling
For the first time, the 2026 Leaf utilizes a multi-link rear suspension and 19-inch wheels. The new suspension gives the car an extra 66% of lateral stiffness, and even with larger wheels, the Leaf has a better turning radius and maneuverability.

A Word from Nissan
“The top priority for our engineering team was optimizing thermal management and never wasting energy. We even capture the heat produced by the onboard charger to warm up the battery,” said Hiroki Isobe, Chief Vehicle Engineer.
More Reliable Battery Regeneration
Liquid-cooled batteries aid in better thermal recovery. Heat produced by the onboard charger (OBC) pre-warms the battery to boost battery regeneration in colder temperatures, assisting the vehicle’s overall battery performance and longevity.

A Nicer, Quieter Cabin
The cabin of the new Leaf is also a beautiful and comfortable place to spend time. A dimmable panoramic roof offers the benefit of having all of the natural light in or none of it to suit your needs at any moment. The cabin is also two decibels quieter than the outgoing model, which was already one of the quietest on the market at 59 dB. That may not seem like a lot, but that is the equivalent of an annoying hum.
More Room for Passengers and Cargo
Because the new model is more geared toward the crossover market, rear passengers will have 51.5 inches of rear legroom, an increase of nearly 20 inches. The vehicle will offer more cargo space in general, with 55.5 cubic feet of space when the second row is folded.
